Dr. William Vitello was born and raised in Northwest Ohio and attended the University of Toledo where he graduated cum laude with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology (B.A. 1987-1992). He earned his Degree in Medicine (M.D. 1992-1996) from Wright State University School of Medicine. He continued his training at Wright State University School of Medicine where he completed two years of General Surgery training as well as the five year orthopedic surgery program (1996-2003). Dr. Vitello did his fellowship training (2003-2004) at the renowned Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. There, he received sub-specialized training in Hand, Microvascular, and Upper-Extremity conditions. Dr. Vitello has extensive experience in the conservative and operative treatment of Hand and Upper-Extremity related injuries and chronic conditions. He has also authored numerous journal and text book articles. He has given numerous presentations at the National and International Orthopaedic Society Meetings throughout his career. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Surgery. Dr. Vitello’s treatment philosophy is to understand the unique needs of every patient as well as their concerns. He then educates the patient on the diagnosis along with their surgical and non-surgical options and provides them the optimum care they deserve.
