Family Law Attorney
Laura Inns grew up in the North Shore suburbs. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia graduated cum laude with a bachelors of journalism. She worked as a photojournalist for more than 10 years. She gave up photojournalism because she wanted to serve people directly while being able to afford to give back and effectuate change. Her legal practice began in general litigation and was heavily focused on agriculture and probate litigation. In 2014, she narrowed her practice to focused on family law. In her family law practice, Laura has handled disputes over allocating the marital estate, establishing a nonmarital asset, improper disposition or dissipation of marital assets, allocating income-tax liability for unconventional income structures, parenting time, significant decision-making for children, establishing paternity, allocating income tax benefits arising out of children, and much more.
