    Antonio M. Romanucci is a founding partner in the Chicago-based law firm of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, a national trial practice committed to fighting for victims of negligence, abuse and wrongful death arising from corporate negligence, civil rights actions, business interruption, medical malpractice, mass torts and class actions, as well as police misconduct.     Founding Partner

    Stephan D. Blandin is a founding partner in Romanucci & Blandin LLC, a Chicago-based personal injury firm.   • Gina Arquilla DeBoni

    Managing Partner

    With a background in social work and the influence of a grandfather and uncle who were passionate lawyers, Gina Arquilla DeBoni naturally gravitated towards a career in law where she could put her strong people skills and passion for helping others to good use. After law school, Gina established a successful personal injury law firm with another partner. She left the practice after six years to join the prominent firm of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC in June 2010 as its managing attorney. In February of 2019 she was named managing partner of the firm. As one of the only female managing partners in the state of Illinois, Gina is responsible for the overall management and quality assurance of the firm’s legal and compliance services within client engagements. She also plays a critical role advocating for the firm’s clients who have suffered from traumatic personal injury, medical malpractice, police misconduct, hazing, sex trafficking, products and premises liability, nursing home negligence, business interruption and construction injury cases. Whether it’s in the office, courtroom or beyond, Gina is passionate about advocating for her clients and ensuring that real, institutional policy change can come from the firm’s cases. In September of 2017, Gina advocated on Capitol Hill with a client who testified before the Senate for an amendment to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.     Bruno R. Martin has played a key role in securing numerous record-breaking multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients who have been harmed as a result of wrongful conduct. Working alongside Antonio Romanucci, founding partner at the firm, in 2017, Martin played a key role in securing a $44.7 million verdict at trial against the City of Chicago in a case where an off-duty police officer shot a construction worker in the head leaving him paralyzed; this was the largest verdict in Illinois and one of the largest in the country for a police misconduct case. In 2019, Martin and his team secured a $21.337 million verdict at trial on behalf of the family of a mother of five young children who was killed in a car accident. Later that same year, Martin secured a $12.35 million settlement at the beginning of trial on behalf of the family of a young mother of three children in a medical malpractice case; the settlement was the largest recorded in Illinois for a misdiagnosis of breast cancer case. In addition to obtaining significant recoveries for his clients, Martin takes on many cases where he believes he can change policies or the law to protect future generations. In that regard, Martin has represented countless victims of childhood sexual abuse, and currently represents dozens of individuals in cases against the Boy Scouts of America and religious institutions.   • Bryce T. Hensley

    Attorney at Law

    Bryce T. Hensley is an attorney at Romanucci & Blandin, LLC, where he helps manage the firm’s complex litigation group representing individual and classes of victims of toxic exposures, product defects, civil rights violations, fraud, sexual harassment, and other catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death. Bryce was inspired to serve as an attorney representing those injured by the wrongful conduct of others, recognizing that earning a law degree is a tremendous privilege and provides the opportunity to help those who are most vulnerable and in need. In just his first few years as an attorney, Bryce has made a name for himself in Chicago and nationwide litigating numerous high-profile mass tort and class action cases. In helping manage the firm’s complex litigation practice, he represents over 70 victims of the Las Vegas shooting, which along with thousands of others, settled their cases for $800 million. Bryce also represents victims of Sterigenics’ ethylene oxide emissions in Willowbrook, Illinois; users of Zantac now diagnosed with cancer around the country; consumers defrauded by ComEd’s bribery of elected officials in Illinois; the Boeing airlines crash in Ethiopia; and police misconduct in the City of Chicago. In October 2019, Bryce was appointed as the Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel in the Sterigenics litigation by the Circuit Court of Cook County. In that position, he is the representative of the nearly two dozen firms representing victims in the litigation before the Court and with defendants’ counsel. In August 2020, he orchestrated one of the largest filings in Cook County history with over 700 individual lawsuits filed against Sterigenics and other defendants. He is now responsible for the coordination, organization, and management of all of the over 750 pending claims in the litigation. While still a law clerk, his knowledge of litigation technology and trial strategy was instrumental in winning a $44.7 million verdict against the City of Chicago for Michael D. LaPorta. This is the largest verdict ever returned in a police misconduct lawsuit against the city of Chicago and in the state of Illinois. Bryce has briefed, argued, and won numerous motions and appeals in state and federal courts. Most notably, in December 2018, just over a year into practice, he argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and reversed the District Court’s grant of summary judgment against his client. (Lewis v. City of Shreveport, et al., 765 Fed. Appx. 93 (5th Cir. 2019). Bryce has also assisted settling numerous individual cases during this time, including: a $2.1 million settlement against the Archdiocese of Chicago for the sexual abuse of a minor child; a $2.25 million settlement against a multi-purpose arena in a premises liability case that resulted in a client suffering a fractured ankle and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS); and a $610,000 settlement on behalf of a client with a herniated disc due to an automobile collision. In law school at Chicago-Kent, Bryce graduated in the top eight percent of his class, earning him the honor of graduating magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While there, Bryce was the captain of the school’s nationally-ranked trial advocacy team, where he earned the Best Advocate Award at the National Tournament of Champions in San Francisco, California.   • Debra L. Thomas

    Attorney & CLE Manager

    As a third-generation lawyer, Debra L. Thomas knew from a young age that she wanted to carry on the family tradition of studying law. She now has over a decade of legal experience in the fields of criminal defense and civil litigation, along with being the continuing legal education (CLE) manager for Romanucci & Blandin. Debra has played a significant role in securing numerous record-breaking multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients who have been harmed as a result of wrongful conduct. In 2017, she served on the police misconduct trial team which secured a $44.7 million verdict at trial against the City of Chicago in a case where an off-duty police officer shot his friend in the head leaving him paralyzed; this was the largest verdict in Illinois and one of the largest in the country for a police misconduct case. In 2019, Debra helped secure a $21.3 million verdict at trial on behalf of the family of a mother of five young children who was killed in a car accident. In addition to serving as an attorney for over 15 years handling criminal defense and civil litigation matters, Debra earned a master’s degree in elementary education from DePaul University. Debra continues to follow her passions of law and education to help support the city of Chicago.

  • Bhavani Raveendran

    Senior Associate Attorney

    Bhavani Raveendran has always wanted to help those who have endured injustices and decided to fight back. Bhavani has worked in civil litigation and civil rights for most of her career and is passionate about standing up against violations of her clients’ constitutional rights to hold private and government actors accountable. Since joining Romanucci & Blandin LLC as an associate attorney in 2015, Bhavani has focused her practice on police misconduct, prison abuse, hazing, bullying, sexual abuse and wrongful death. Bhavani has first-chaired federal and state trials and received numerous settlements for her clients, notably including Doe v. Maine West High School involving one of the largest high school hazing settlements in Illinois and one of the biggest police misconduct settlements in the Western District of Oklahoma. In 2018, Bhavani had the honor to argue before the 1st Appellate District of Illinois in a sexual abuse case where she advocated for a child victim and in which the Court determined that the sexual abuse of a child cannot be considered a “de minimus” injury. Bhavani has also been honored to represent the Estate of Desiree Robinson and her family in their wrongful death action against Backpage.com and their continuing advocacy against the sex-trafficking of children. Before joining Romanucci & Blandin, Bhavani practiced as a municipal prosecutor and general civil attorney with a McHenry, Illinois firm, Diamond & LeSueur, P.C. After obtaining her law degree, Bhavani completed a fellowship in human rights litigation at DC-based International Rights Advocates working to hold American corporations answerable for funding and causing overseas abuse of human rights. During law school, she also served as a student attorney for International Human Rights Clinic, as a legal intern at Torture Abolition and Survivor Coalition International, and as a civil rights law clerk at the Council on American-Islamic Relations Chicago. These experiences solidified Bhavani’s passion for helping those who have suffered injustices and violations of their basic rights and freedoms. In her free time, Bhavani enjoys a good sandwich, contemplating the general state of the world, volunteering with her temple, and quality time with her family and friends.
