As it happens, City Volkswagen of Chicago is the same place where new owner Anthony Scala had his very first job in life. His father ran the Lynch Auto group back in the 80s and 90s and Anthony was a porter in his teenage years. Anthony grew up in Sauganash and went to St. Patrick High School. He continued working as a porter in college at a dealership in Evanston and that is where he met his partner Shawn Kohli. Shawn was a full-time salesperson putting himself through DePaul. Anthony and Shawn always saw the car business from a different perspective and vowed to do things differently if they ever had a store of their own.
